THE HERITAGE
Born in Saint Tropez, Raised in Aspen
Entourage is the liquid bridge between two legendary playgrounds. It began in the 1960s amid the sun-drenched, barefoot glamour of the Mediterranean coast, and grew up in the high-altitude, champagne-sprayed alpine energy of Aspen. Same untamed spirit, different elevation.
"It's not every day a man drops a ton of roses in your backyard."
— BRIDGETTE BARDOT
SAINT TROPEZ, 1966
The "Original Entourage"
As an avant-garde photographer, documentary filmmaker, and modern art collector, Sachs didn't just visit the Riviera—he orchestrated its rhythm. He was the definitive archetype of the international playboy, a man who viewed life not as a series of routines, but as a canvas for grand, romantic gestures.
In the summer of 1966, when Sachs met Brigitte Bardot, he didn't settle for the ordinary. Shortly following their introduction, he commissioned a helicopter to fly over her villa, La Madrague, releasing a torrential cloud of thousands of red roses into the Mediterranean breeze. He then tossed his luggage into the waves and dove into the sea to meet her. It was a bold declaration that life is meant to be lived beautifully, defiantly, and without compromise.
Weeks later, they were married.
This wasn't just a moment in pop culture history—it is the Entourage DNA.
Gunnar Sachs, co-founder of Entourage, grew up inheriting this exact philosophy from his father, Gunter. For Gunnar, the reckless elegance, the grand romantic gestures, and the effortless joie de vivre of the 1960s Riviera weren't stories read in a magazine; they were a family blueprint.
The Saint-Tropez air tasted of salt water, prestige, and endless possibility. This was an era where the crowd didn't just chase the sun; they chased a collective high-energy joie de vivre that defined a generation. It was against this backdrop that the "Original Entourage" was born—a heritage Gunnar carries forward today.
